WHITE CANE DAY

To make the American people more fully aware of the meaning of the white cane and of the need for motorists to exercise extra caution and awareness for the blind person who carries it.

CHRISTMAS CLOTHING

Working with the local schools to help keep kids warm by providing new warm winter gear to children in need.

IRIS NETWORK CHRISTMAS PARTY

Lions and Leos' putting on a great Christmas dinner and gifts from Santa for the Iris Network , loving facility for the sight impaired in Portland, Maine. 

MEDICAL EQUIPMENT LOAN PROGRAM

Loaning a large variety of medical equipment to local Waterboro & Alfred community, from medical beds, wheelchairs, walkers, canes, bathroom devices and more. Just return when done with it.

Persons usually available on site Thursdays 9 AM - 12 Noon.

PEACE POSTER

 Giving young people the opportunity to creatively express their feelings for world peace and to share their visions with the world. Lions clubs sponsors the contest which is open to children ages 11 - 13 in local schools or organized, sponsored youth groups, such as Scouts and Boys & Girls Clubs.

SPEAKOUT

To provide an opportunity for high school students to think about important issues facing them and their community, as well as the state our nation. Students organize their thoughts and ideas into a logical sequence, namely a prepared speech. Students then express their ideas publicly and defend their position on the issue presented when questioned.

YOUTH RECOGNITION

Local youths are nominated by a member of their community for their outstanding service volunteering within their community. The selected youths efforts are then recognized and applauded by the Lions Club.

CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING

Come by and help Santa light the Christmas Tree and then enjoy some hot chocolate and delicious snacks too. First Friday after Thanksgiving.

THANKSGIVING BASKETS

Supporting local food pantries with needed items for Thanksgiving meals.
